EyeMed Vision Care® and The Vision Council Foundation Announce Continuation of Partnership to Elevate Message of Vision Health
Cincinnati, OH & Alexandria, VA – March 19, 2026 – EyeMed Vision Care® and The Vision Council Foundation are continuing their strategic partnership for a second year, building on a shared commitment to elevate awareness of the vital role comprehensive eye care plays in overall health and well-being. As the collaboration evolves, the organizations are expanding their efforts to reach broader audiences with accessible vision health information that empowers individuals of all ages to take a proactive approach to their eye health.
In its second year, the partnership will broaden its focus beyond grade-school education to include adult engagement and age-related vision conditions through an Eye Health Engagement Series. The initiative will highlight the often-overlooked connections between eye health and overall wellbeing such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes, reinforcing the role routine eye exams play in early detection and coordinated care. The series will also address conditions more prevalent in aging populations, including cataracts and macular degeneration, with resources designed to increase awareness and support lifelong vision health over time.
The expanded partnership also marks the release of the fourth installment of EyeMed’s Vision Curriculum Kit, Lens Technology: The Science of Refraction, developed in collaboration with The Vision Council Foundation. The interactive series helps students learn about eye health while sparking interest in the broader field of vision care. The latest kit is available for free download or shipping today, and the complete series can be accessed here.
“Our ongoing collaboration with EyeMed Vision Care reflects our shared commitment to advancing education and strengthening the future of the optical industry,” said Ashley Mills, CEO of The Vision Council. “Together, we’ve introduced grade school students to the world of vision and opened meaningful conversations around career opportunities in optical. To date, 144,000 Vision Curriculum Kits have been developed and distributed, equipping educators, professionals, and parents with resources that help younger generations understand the importance of caring for their eyes.”
The organizations also co-hosted the webinar, Fueling the Future: The Next Generation of Eye Care Professionals, bringing together industry experts to discuss workforce trends, talent development strategies, and pathways supporting the next generation of optical professionals.
“We are proud to continue this collaborative effort with The Vision Council Foundation,” said Matt MacDonald, President of EyeMed Vision Care. “The eyes can be a window into overall health, and eye exams can uncover important insights that extend beyond vision alone. Through this partnership, we are helping broaden eyecare awareness and encouraging individuals to take an active role in caring for their health.”
