Frame Manufacturing Standards and Regulations

• Country of Origin Marking Rules
  The Vision Council has gathered general rules and examples to assist optical importers in developing procedures for the proper marking of optical products.
• Rimless Drill Mount Standard
  The Rimless Frame Drill Mount Standard version 1.0, establishes a file format and data requirements for the distribution of information needed to mount lenses.
• Lead Guidelines
  The Vision Council Voluntary Lead Guidelines provides information on federal lead paint regulations, lead content limitations as it applies to eyeglasses or sunwear, and general guidelines and good practices for the frame manufacturing process.

Members of The Vision Council contributing to the development of standards and guidelines to assist in the frame manufacturing process include the Lens Description Standard Committee, Data Communication Standard Committee, Lens Technical Committee and Eyewear and Accessories Division Lead Task Force.
