A Message from The Vision Council’s CEO: New Member-driven Team Structure

Dear Member,

2022 is already off to an exciting and productive start. We recently hosted our Virtual Annual Business Meeting and are looking forward to gathering again in person at Vision Expo East, taking place March 31–April 3 at the Javits Center in New York City.

Additionally, we are pleased to share with members some recent changes to The Vision Council’s staff structure. As part of our strategic direction for 2022, and in an effort to better serve our members, we have expanded the Membership and Marketing team to a Membership and Strategic Initiatives team that will oversee the following functions: marketing and communications; market research; membership and technical affairs; government relations and regulatory affairs; and new business programs and partnerships.

The expanded team will oversee all member benefit programs and also be charged with creating new programs and partnerships to serve our members. We remain laser-focused on offering our members the most valuable resources, tools and benefits possible and our new structure reflects the ways we have adapted as an organization to solve new problems and develop new capabilities so that we can continue leading the industry forward.

The restructure includes several staff promotions that we are pleased to share as well. Promotions include:

Maureen Beddis, Executive Vice President, Membership and Strategic Initiatives
Michael Vitale, Vice President, Membership and Technical Affairs
Nathan Troxell, Director of Business Development and Special Projects
Amy Applegate, Creative Director and Project Coordinator
Hayley Rakus, Senior Communications Manager
Julia Moore, Member Communications Manager
