Consumer Reports Publishes a Consumer Guide to Lens Coatings

Consumer Reports recently published an article highlighting what consumers should know about lens coatings when buying glasses, providing detailed information about the benefits of different types of lens coatings, what questions consumers should ask regarding each type of coating, and other practical tips to help consumers when making a purchase. The article was published online and will run in a summer 2020 issue of the print magazine.

The Vision Council worked with Consumer Reports to facilitate an interview with The Vision Council's Senior Technical Director and Lens Division Liaison Michael Vitale to offer his expert advice about what consumers should know about lens coatings when making a purchase. His comments and tips are highlighted several times throughout the story. The Vision Council also provided statistics from recent VisionWatch market research reports for inclusion in the article.
