About This Role

The Manager of Member Communications develops, implements, and oversees comprehensive communication strategies that effectively engage, retain and recruit members. This role aims to enhance member experience and satisfaction, ensure clear and consistent messaging across various channels, and support organizational goals by fostering strong relationships with members. This position works directly under the supervision of the Director of Member Services.

Job Summary

  • Writing and editing of copy for various materials such as e-blasts, press releases, newsletters, and websites
  • Supports various membership meetings
  • Fields member inquiries related to division activities, and committee inquiries, including voting, communications, and resources
  • Assists in membership coordination, including database management, dues communication and collections, member onboarding, benefit alignment and leadership organization
  • Work with MarComm to support the social media and public relations teams with planning, content, and scheduling
  • Project manager for member communication campaigns, including planning and coordination with internal and external teams to ensure alignment of all communication aspects (e.g., website content updates, registration, calendar invites, etc.).
  • Design, creation and scheduling of member eblasts in Informz, web graphics and printed publications such as brochures, fact sheets and posters
  • Photoshop image preparation, including search and download of appropriate stock imagery as needed
  • Web projects communication liaison
  • PowerPoint presentation assembly and maintenance
  • Other tasks as deemed needed

Experience

  • Proven track record of success in marketing and communication roles and managing member focused communications 
  • In depth knowledge of associations membership model preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or general business
  • 4+ years of experience in a related field, preferably in association or optical industry.
  • Able to work from home office, with some occasional company paid travel to events and shows.

Pay

  • $71,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
