President Biden Announces Vaccination Policy

Good Evening,

As you may have seen earlier this afternoon, President Biden released a six-point national strategy to combat COVID-19.

In his speech, President Biden announced that he will require all employers with 100 or more employees to ensure their workers are vaccinated or tested weekly. According to the plan outline, the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is developing a rule that will require all employers with 100 or more employees to ensure their workforce is fully vaccinated or require any workers who remain unvaccinated to produce a negative test result on at least a weekly basis before coming to work. OSHA will issue an Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) to implement this requirement. We expect this requirement to impact over 80 million workers in private sector businesses.

The Vision Council will continue to monitor this development and where appropriate, we will engage with the Department of Labor and the White House to secure any additional information to keep you as up to date as possible.
