March 2021 Eyecare Provider Insights Survey Report Now Available

The Vision Council has released the results of the March 2021 Eyecare Provider Insights Survey. The Vision Council fielded the survey to the organization’s panel and had 329 respondents during the last week of March. The survey is currently fielded monthly and asks respondents to provide insight about how business conditions—including number of eye exams, capture rate, revenue, and staffing—compare to a typical month, pre-pandemic. The survey also asked respondents for their insights on their economic outlook for 2021.

Below is a snapshot of compelling data from the survey.

More eyecare providers report improvements in patient volume and capture rates

Over the first quarter of 2021, more respondents have reported that their patient volume and capture rates are normal or better. This positive trend may continue into the second quarter as patients become more comfortable making appointments and purchases.

When asked about their perceptions of future revenue in the next 3–6 months, 73% of respondents reported anticipating that their revenue would be normal or better.
