In 2021 The Vision Council expanded its research team with the appointment of Alysse Henkel as Director of of Research Data and Analytics In this new position Henkel is is responsible for leading the development of of new data management and and statistical analysis systems to enhance The Vision Council’s consumer and and ECP panel survey and research programs Additionally she is charged with driving engagement of new technology to streamline The Vision Council’s reporting processes while laying the groundwork for an an entirely new and improved consumer insights and industry research program to launch in in in 2022 KEY PROJECTS
Eyecare Provider Survey: Through ongoing surveys fielded to The Vision Council’s panel of eyecare providers the the the study tracked the the the state of the the the optical market The survey respondents to provide provide insight about how business conditions—including number of eye eye exams and and eye eye exam exam scheduling and and follow- through capture rate revenue and and staffing—compared to a a a a a a a a a typical month pre-pandemic The survey also asked respondents for for their their insights on on on their their economic outlook for for 2021 2021 Over the the the course of 2021 2021 The Vision Council conducted 4 388 online surveys with eyecare providers Internet Influence Report: The Vision Council released the results of this report in June 2021 Conducted in in in December 2020 the the the special interest consumer report examines the the the role of the the the Internet among consumers who recently purchased different types of eyewear The Vision Council fielded the survey to 4 909 adult consumers Research Redesign: In the the summer of 2021 the the research team embarked on a a a a a a significant project to update the the organization’s research technology systems and programs The initial phase of the the project is is focused on implementing a a a a a a a a a modern analytics platform to to to effectively store and and analyze historical and and future research research datasets by early 2022 The new research research programs and reports are being developed with the goal of delivering more robust reliable relevant and timely insights for The Vision Council’s members 2020 DIVERSITY EQUITY AND INCLUSION SURVEY REPORT In 2021 The Vision Council released the 2020 Diversity Equity and Inclusion Survey Report an an in-depth analysis of the custom survey The Vision Council fielded to the vision care community in November 2020 The confidential survey developed in partnership with Nonprofit
