Stimulus Letter to Congress

04/29/2020

Yesterday, The Vision Council sent a letter to Speaker Pelosi and Leaders McConnell, Schumer and McCarthy on behalf of members to request various levels of support in the next stimulus package. As the pandemic and economic shutdown has affected countless businesses and consumers across the country, including hundreds of thousands of jobs within the eyecare industry, The Vision Council has requested Congress consider the following priorities for the optical industry when developing the next stimulus package:

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Small Business Administration Paycheck Protection Program
  • COVID-19 Testing and Guidance for Employers
  • Liability Protection

The Vision Council supports Congress in the efforts they have made thus far and wants to ensure that all members are appropriately represented. The full letter can be read here.
