2022 Executive Summit

The Vision Council’s 2022 Executive Summit will take place in-person from Monday, January 24 to Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at a new host site, the Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa, an iconic Texas Hill Country luxury resort located on 4,000 lush acres just outside of downtown Austin, Texas. Presented under the banner of “It’s All Connected,” the event will bring the vision care community together for the first in-person Executive Summit since 2020.

The three-day event will focus on sustainable growth through the understanding of the connection between individual employee health and wellness, success of an organization and the advancement of the industry as a whole. From supply chain challenges and remote working implications to mental health awareness and diversity, equity and inclusion, the 2022 Executive Summit will feature captivating and actionable presentations for attendees to apply as they prepare for the year ahead. 

The new Monday to Wednesday date pattern offers attendees flexibility in their travel plans and will provide ample time to network, engage in the Executive Summit’s comprehensive programming and explore the resort and Austin area, a new host city for the annual event.

From employee retention and recruitment to strategies for motivating employees and managing remote work, Johnny C. Taylor, Jr. will share insights on how to “reset” internal structure and procedures in the aftermath of the pandemic.

Economic Trends

Brian Beaulieu, CEO and Chief Economist of ITR Economics™

Industry favorite, Brian Beaulieu will return to the summit to provide attendees with insights on trade policies, economic trends and an outlook for the year ahead. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: Fireside Chat with Tony Byers

Tony Byers, Diversity & Inclusion Professional Programs Director and Senior Extension Faculty for Cornell University’s ILR School, will discuss industry-specific insights, scenarios, challenges and opportunities with Howard Purcell, OD and President of the New England College of Optometry. Additionally, Byers will discuss his experience in the diversity, equity and inclusion field from his years as the Head of Global Diversity and Inclusion at Starbucks. Byers is known for his efforts in leading and revitalizing Starbucks’ highly respected and successful diversity and inclusion programming.

The Vision Council’s Market Research Team: Research Changes and Improvements

The Vision Council’s market research team will present an update on the modifications and upgrades planned for The Vision Council’s research offerings in 2022.

This two-part general session will offer attendees insight into the top trends in consumer actions and attitudes regarding buying, information gathering and healthcare. The trends presentation will be followed by an industry leadership roundtable discussion focused on how members can use this data to position their companies for success.  

Governmental and Regulatory Affairs: Member Impact

The Vision Council’s Government and Regulatory Affairs team will discuss the impact their recent efforts advocating on Capitol Hill, within key Federal Agencies, and in many state capitals has on members and the industry as a whole.

Bryar and Carr will demonstrate how Amazon’s approach to leadership, culture and best practices were developed, refined and scaled while providing practical steps for applying it to any organization. Additionally, the presentation will illuminate Amazon’s fourteen leadership principles that inform decision-making and reveal the four characteristics that define the company’s culture. Vaccine Requirements

All Executive Summit attendees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. At this time, The Vision Council is not accepting exemptions. Attendees will need to show proof of vaccination before receiving their registration badge onsite. Proof of vaccination can be the physical vaccine card, a photo of the vaccine card or a digital vaccination record using your preferred travel or event app. No exceptions will be made and refunds will not be issued for failure to provide proof of vaccination. Thank you for helping us return to live events safely!

Golf Tournament

Heralded as the #1 golf resort in Texas, the Omni Barton Creek Resort boasts four nationally acclaimed championship courses ideal for the return of the golf tournament to the Executive Summit. The tournament will be held on Monday, January 24. The cost of the tournament is $225 per person and includes a grab-and-go breakfast. To register for the tournament, click here.

Club rentals are $80, with 8.25% tax, at the player’s expense and includes six golf balls. Club rental fees will be charged to your room at the Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa.
