Choosing Glasses and Sunglasses
Teens who need prescription lenses to correct a refractive error will find that they experience improved and more accurate vision once they begin using their glasses. In addition, wearing glasses also gives them yet another opportunity to express themselves and their own personal style.
In addition to wearing lenses to correct vision, teens may also benefit from computer glasses that can help prevent digital eye strain. Some teens might choose to wear glasses that do not have any corrective lenses but rather serve as a fashion statement or accessory. At the same time, all teens – regardless of whether they have refractive errors or not – should have and wear sunglasses to prevent eye diseases and damage that result from exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet rays.
Encouraging teens to wear their glasses and sunglasses will help them maintain their healthy vision.
